Like a lot of things about Semantic the answer is fairly simple... it's mostly about freedom.
This just in... freedom beats money
Each of us have worked for other companies where MONEY was the ONLY THING THAT MATTERED. Of course money is important, but it's not at the top of our list. We talk about finding the treasure... but that can mean different things to different people.
At Semantic we get to do great work for great clients, have fun and go home to our families happy. That's quite a treasure trove.
On occasion this has meant turning down projects because there wasn't a meeting of minds.
In one case recently we declined to work on a project for a huge UK brand with an eye-wateringly high budget... just because it didn't feel right. If this is the kind of thing you don't understand then there are lots of other web agencies out there... go in peace.
