Client Account Manager

We need someone that can help solve client challenges, manage retainers and keep clients happy.

Semantic are a leading digital agency for attractions, theme parks and zoos. We're looking to grow our team to help deliver awesome new websites and site roll outs for a variety of attraction clients in the UK and worldwide.

As a dedicated Client Manager at Semantic you will be responsible for keeping the clients happy, engaged, showing our value, managing retainers, and upselling them more services and support. You'll be able to get involved across our portfolio of clients, and enjoy a varied mix of projects, strategic feature improvements, SEO, integrations and more.

You’ll work closely with our Designers, Developers and Strategy team to ensure smooth delivery on all work we undertake, according to deadlines and budgets. You’ll have the satisfaction of helping clients achieve great results, solving problems and helping them over many months.

You’ll need to be a great problem solver, with a creative and strategic approach to solving clients' online challenges. We need someone the whole team can rely on to know every aspect of the clients down to the finest details. You will also need to be happy to engage with teams and clients to keep them engaged and build trust.

You will have the confidence and experience to make quick decisions. always ensuring that the Ops Director is kept informed on task progress across teams and clients.

You will work with the Ops Director to ensure clients are happy and retainers are being managed effectively. Given this could be a fully remote role, we’d be looking for someone that’s super organised, energetic, proactive and able to keep on top of a variety of tasks/priorities simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture and ensure updates are delivered on time and on budget, delighting our clients in the process
  • Day-to-day client management, task prioritisation and ensuring delivery against client objectives, working with the team to raise and resolve issues as early as possible
  • Working with the team to create accurate estimates to clients that are based on agreed scope, and keeping tasks to this
  • Collaborating with and managing internal/external development partners
  • Managing the QA/checks process on all tasks and efficiently dealing with issues
  • Leading regular retainer progress meetings with the clients
  • Be proactive in learning about all aspects of websites, opportunities and deliverables
  • Develop and evolve the Semantic retainer process as needed
  • Be responsive/proactive to both the clients and the internal team, enabling fast turnaround of issues & challenges
  • Always trying to find ways to delight the clients or team members, and having fun!

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Website knowledge and experience managing a client's website over minimum of 18 months
  • Agency/freelance experience
  • Confident, outgoing, and able to work under pressure
  • Conscientious and hardworking
  • Methodical and organised with a high level of attention to detail
  • Able to use judgement and act on own initiative as appropriate
  • Sound knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Sound understanding of task management tools (Trello, Monday.com, Harvest, Jira (or other similar alternatives)
  • Self-motivated, proactive and willing to learn
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working within a digital marketing team
  • Marketing experience
  • Knowledge website systems and CMS's (especially Umbraco and/or Wordpress)
  • A good understanding of marketing services either gained through education, or through work experience
  • Strong commercial awareness
